Now I have 2 children: Alexander (2.5 years) and Anastasia (5 months) and work as the Real Estate Investment Support in European Head office of the American Self-storage company "Shurgard". I assume that some of you, living in States, might know this company very well. My range of interests is very various (Russian culture, music, dances, literature, some sport, walking in a forest, etc.). Personal Info and Comments: My family immigrated in 1988 to NYC, Brooklyn, USA. In Gomel my mother was an English teacher but she taught German (Yiddish helped!)at school #47. My father was a doctor (pediatrician) at a clinic in 5iy mikrorayon (clinik #3?). I also have two younger brothers Dima and Rostic (Roy). I went to school #32 and I am still in contact with my school classmate Ludochka Strenkova. Presently I work as a Sr. Systems Analyst at Prudential. I am happily married, interests include traveling, arts, sports, being outdoors etc. (not that I have much time to pursue them!). My brother told me about this site and I must say I was amazed at my own reaction to it. The feeling of nostalgia was almost painful and brought so many sweet memories that it felt almost unreal - up to now I had only vague recollections of Gomel, if any. The pictures are awesome and, judging from the profiles, it is also nice to know that most of us immigrants are doing so well. It is too bad that so few people currently living in Gomel are not able to access the site for obvious reasons.
